How do I move content from my WordPress.com blog to my installation of WordPress on 121 Hosting? Print

If your content is currently hosted on a community blog site such as wordpress.com, follow these instructions for migrating your content to your individual installation of the WordPress platform on 121 Hosting:

Step 1: Log in to your WordPress.com blog.

Step 2: Within your Dashboard, navigate to Tools > Export.

Step 3: Download the export file.

Step 4: Within the Dashboard of your 121 Hosting installation of WordPress, navigate to Tools > Import.

Step 5: Choose “WordPress” for the import type.

Step 6: Upload the XML file you downloaded from WordPress.com.

Step 7: You’re done! Depending on your theme, you may need to distribute your content accordingly.
